Annette Funicello did not only sing and act, but also performed. She is best remembered as being one of Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. When she was a teenager, her singing career began. Her popularity grew due to songs such as 'Tall Paul' and "Pineapple Princess.. She was born in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy child. After deciding to start working in the business began dancing and performing. Mid-1950s she gained significant recognition due to her roles in "Disney" comedy sketches. Annette was able to let go of her 'Disney" persona she had developed when she was a kid and took on a variety of adult characters. Annette was renowned as one of the first actors who initiated the "beach party" style of film. The films she appeared in included 'Pajama Party', 'How to stuff a wild bikini", and "Beach Party'.
